Zaragoza was lucky to get a point away to Girona last weekend, as the team opened the scoreline in second minute via Rico, but generally were a bit weaker side during the ninety minutes, while the hosts only managed to press their opponent in a proper way in last quarter of the match. Finally, they equalized in 88th minute via Mas, even though Jadro has missed a penalty kick few minutes earlier.
Anyhow, Zaragoza remained at sixth position, as the team awaits two tough matches after this one, visiting Valladolid and Las Palmas in next two rounds. Coach Popovic asked his fans to fill the stadium Romaleda in order to help the team achieve all three points and come closer to securing the play-off ticket. They are undefeated at home in last four months, having five victories and four draws, as they aim nothing but a three pointer for today. Defender Jesus Valllejo (27/1) is suspended due completion of yellow cards, while outside for this game will be winger Pedro (29/6) as well. Full back Cabrera (33/0) has received a knock in previous weeks and also remains highly doubtful. On the bright side, important full back Jose Hernandez (33/1) has recovered for tonight’s game.
Mirandes, on the other side, comes from two straight defeats, as the team has nine points then first relegating worried sides. On Saturday evening, they hosted Barcelona B, but stood without points in a 2:3 loss. They were back in the scoreline already after fourth minute, but managed to overturn their lead with goals Cantera and Vera late in the first and early in second half.
Anyway, visiting side was much more determined, while the hosts conceded two more goals and completely lost the pace of the game, while the side continued seeking for their first victory after four and a half months – 0-4-5 record in the progress, also, not scoring in five of these nine matches. Still, they aren’t in a relegation trouble, but the team will have to respond sooner or later, at least in their home matches. Defender Javi Cantero (13/1) is suspended, while full back Gorka Kijera (31/1) returns to the team. Forward Borja Docal (8/0) is injured and won’t be playing, same as defender Alex Ortiz (20/0) and defender Jose Antonio Espin (5/0).
Easy or hard, home team should prevail here. They do miss couple of important players, but so does the visitors. Zaragoza is far more superior side, having great motive and surely in much better form.
