After two defeats at the start of Euro qualifiers campaign, Turkey improved their chances a bit and now after few unsuccessful qualifying sessions, they do still have some chances to do something more meaningful and finally show to Europe that they do belong between it’s best nations.
However, their journey might be very tricky, as the team already seems to have lost the chance to be between first two nations, as they are six points away from Czech Republic and five points away from Iceland, being at fourth position at the moment with two points less than Holland. As said, after two starting defeats, they had draws against Latvia and Netherlands away, also winning over Kazakhstan, so the things have improved slightly but are still far away from their best potential. Coach Fatih Terim has problems with absences for this one, especially with goalkeepers as Babacan now looks sure to be between the posts. Other injured players would be Erkin, Kazim RIchards, Pektemek and Ozyakup.
Bulgaria, on the other hand, also didn’t start their qualifying campaign well and also have difficult task in order to be at the Euro 2016 in France. After five rounds played, they are at fourth position with four points less than third placed Norway, while firstly two placed sides Croatia and Italy anyway seem to be out of their league and are having six and eight points more than them already.
After a disastrous 1:1 draw at home against Malta, the team had a 2:2 draw at home against Italy back in March, which was also their most recent game. The team is set to play away to Malta on Friday evening, which is surely now a must win match for them, as any other result would surely mean that they are out of Euro. Coach Petev has all main players on his disposal, having complete starting lineup from the game against Italy available now. However, having in mind that they are awaiting the game against Malta, it’s hard to see him using all of his best players tonight.
Having in mind that both teams are awaiting tough games away from home in just a few days, it’s hard to see them being very interested in this one. Aside from it, neither of the sides work extremely well in offense, so under goals seems to be more than a logical choice here.
