Fully fair was the final score between home side GFC Ajaccio and Tours last weekend, as the teams hared impressions on the field with the teams sharing a point each in a 1:1 draw. Corsicans were better in the first halftime, while Tours responded in second when they managed to equalize, in completely equal performances of two sides.
Even though they didn’t get a victory here, the team returns with a positive result, as they were completely overwritten before the start of the game. So, their uptrend in form continues, as they remain undefeated in last five matches (with three victories and two draws), having now three points difference in comparison to relegating placed sides, even though they were one of the hottest candidates for relegation only five rounds ago. Coach insisted that nothing is finished yet, as the team still has a lot of to prove and has asked from his players to look at every game separately. Defender Toure (13/0) is the only absentee in their team.
Clermont, on the other side, also coming from a draw, this time a goalless one against Sochaux at home last weekend. Neither of the teams actually impressed, especially not in attack, as both of them had only couple of real goalscoring chances. However, players of Clermont have continued with positive results and that’s what counts for them.
Undefeated streak continues for them, as the players of Clermont now count six matches with no defeat, having four victories prior to last two draw matches, as the team enter their best possible form in the most critical moment, when the team was in tough relegating battle. Atmosphere is now excellent, as the team has now nine points more than relegating placed sides and everything indicated that the club will stay in the league, as well as their coach for another year, since he ensured their salvation easier than expected. However, they will be having four absent players for today’s game, as they continue to miss forward Gregory Bettiol (no performance yet in the season), but also striker Idriss Saadi (21/11) who will lose the rest of the season as well. Midfielder Adrien Hunou (12/4) is missing his fourth match, while full back Cedric Bockhorni (9/0) is also absent due injury.
Tours is in a good form at the moment and will surely enter the game with improved atmosphere between the players. On the other side, they have every motive in this game as well and should be able to overpower Clermont, easy or hard, since the visiting side slowly stays without much of competitive motive.
