Premiership action at White Hart Lane in a 15:00 kick off which will see Tottenham host Aston Villa in a game that means a lot to both clubs for different reasons! Tottenham head into the game having drawn 0-0 with Burnely on the 5th April. The game was poor, both teams were poor and the final result showed. Tottenham had a great chance to push for a top 4 spot and many would have expected a Spurs win vs Burnley, however, Burnley have been hard to beat lately.
Spurs last 6 home games (all competitions) has been both teams score in all 6 of them! When at home Tottenham seem to play with a lot more confidence and play the game to actually win and to entertain their fans. I think this is one of the reasons that they often concede goals at home. Spurs currently sit in 6th place, just 7 points from the top 4, I doubt they will get there, however, this has to be their aim.
Team news for Spurs is that Vorm will keep his place in the team as Lloris remains out. Also, Kyle Walker is expected to miss the game with injury. With 2 key defensive players I expect Spurs to concede against an inform Villa.
Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood heads into the game against his former club, so this will personally be a game he will want to win! Sherwood didn’t start life as Villa manager the way he would have wanted and a few defeats were getting people talking! However, since he’s got to grips with the club and the players he has available he seems to have turned things around for the better.
Villa managed to beat local rivals West Brom twice and then thumped Sunderland 4-0 at the Stadium of Light! Villa’s last outing was a 3-3 draw with relegation rivals QPR. A Benteke hatrick saw Villa get a point which kept they out of the relegation zone, they showed great character to come from behind twice!
The Aston Villa striker has always been able to get goals, however, earlier in the season his confidence was low, Sherwood seems to have given Benteke a boost and his goals have started to come again! Villa have scored 5 goals in their last 2 away games, so I expect a great performance from them.
I think this will be quite an open game and I think both teams will go all out for a victory, for that reason I can see both teams scoring at least one goal. Therefore, I’ll be backing BTTS (Both teams to score) at a price of 1.80 with Ladbrokes. Good luck all…Shibby.
