Stoke was quite equal opponent away to Swansea in the first halftime last weekend, but the things didn’t end up that well for them in last fifteen minutes of the game. Montero opened the scoreline in 76th minute, while Stoke was left playing with ten men since 84th minute when Wilson got red carded, with Sung-Yong sealing the final result in second minute of additional time.
They now have only one victory in last seven matches, with the team losing their chances to get the sixth position during the poor period. With two games remaining to be played in at home, no doubt that the team will want to finish the season with positive performances in front of own crowd. Stoke will miss striker Bojan (16/4) and offensive midfielder Victor Moses (19/3), while suspended for this game will be central defender Marc Wilson (26/0). Right defender Geoff Cameron (24/0) is doubtful, but with every chance to recover in time. Defender Philipp Wollscheid will return to the central back position, while midfielder Stephen Ireland should be called back in the starting lineup.
Tottenham, on the other side, comes from a narrow defeat at home against Manchester City 0:1 last weekend. Only goal was scored in 29th minute via Sergio Aguero, while the Spurs were better in remaining of the match, having created more chances and holding the ball more to their feet, but without real effectiveness in final touch.
Similar to their opponents, they are also not in a very good form, having only one victory in last five matches. The team is now only one point above seventh placed Southampton and could go down, while their aim surely remains getting the sixth place and direct ticket to Europa League, avoiding early preparations for the qualifying stage. Target remains a victory here, even though they have only two victories in last eight matches on the road in all competitions. Left back Ben Davies (14/0) and right defender Kyle Walker (18/0) remain Spurs’ only injury concerns. Manager Mauricio Pochettino probably won’t experiment much this time.
Both teams will enter the game to bounce back with more positive performances. Open game is expected here, with Stoke probably playing the game much more relaxed this time in front of their own fans. Tottenham, on the other side, has to look for a victory and will surely be playing as offensive as possible. Both teams to score and over goals are my first choice here.
