Just when everyone thought the team is without much chances of surviving in Premier League this season, the team surprised everyone with two more than decent performances taking four points in two matches away from home. Now, everyone in the club seem convinced that the team is still able to get saved this season.
First impressive performance came away to West Bromwich Albion last weekend, when they took a 4:1 victory, forming a three goals lead already at the halftime. Second game was on Tuesday evening when the team visited Aston Villa and managed to stay undefeated in a 3:3 draw. Somehow out of nowhere, the team is now only two points away from the salvation zone and in case they get a positive result against Chelsea, no doubt that the team would boost their morale even further. Home team misses few important players, such as striker Eduardo Vargas (21/3), central defenders Richard Dunne (17/0) and Rio Ferdinand (11/0), as well as offensive midfielders Leroy Fer (24/4) and substitute defensive midfielder Alejandro Faurlin (2/0). Coach Ramsey surely won’t change much in comparison to two previous matches.
Chelsea, on the other side, is now really close to win the title and probably will manage to do it, even if they don’t keep the form up to the same level till the end of the season. After two most recent victories, over Hull and Stoke, the team has seven points more than second placed Arsenal and a game in hand, meaning that any other side need a huge miracle in order to catch them.
However, the side didn’t specially performed well in the previous game against Stoke which was won with a 2:1 result, as the performance itself was full of nervous reactions and the team was close to concede the equalizer near the end of the game. On the other side, their second goal scored was much more of a gift from visiting goalkeeper Begovic who made a huge mistake. Anyhow, even if they don’t need to win every single game till the end, no doubt that the players will go fully motivated into this one as well. Midfielders Matic and Fabregas will both be playing, even though they will miss next matches, either against Manchester United, either Arsenal, in case they get yellow carded here. Midfielder John Obi Mikel (11/0) and top goalscorer Diego Costa (28/19) continue to be sidelined.
No doubt that QPR will try to defend, knowing that the point is probably all they can achieve here. Chelsea, on the other side, is known for taking a bit more defensive approach when they have enough time to react and punish opponents for their mistakes. Without Diego Costa things seems to be getting bit more complicated in attack and I believe we will see a typical under here, with possible 0-0, 0-1 score.
