New York City vs Chicago Fire Betting Tips and Match Preview – 15/05/2015
|Chicago Fire to hold on!|
New York City FC hit the lowest point in their brief franchise history with a loss to rivals New York Red Bulls. NYCFC were beneficiaries of a Red Bulls red card and were playing against 10 men for nearly an hour but even then the club was unable to do much damage. Striker David Villa returned from injury but was ineffective and was visibly upset when manager Jason Kreis removed him with 20 minutes remaining. Perhaps that will help light a fire in Villa, who has not performed as well as management had hoped.
Chicago Fire meanwhile saw their three-match home winning streak snapped by losing 2-1 to RSL. The club now have dropped two straight, having lost to Sporting KC the week prior. The club’s attacking shortcomings have caught up with them and when the defense fails to hold, results are tough to come by. Chicago must hope the return of forward David Accam from suspension will be enough to spark the attack to life.
Chicago will have the confidence in knowing they beat this same NYCFC side not too long ago but NYCFC will be looking to respond after a dismal outing. Still, the lack of firepower from either side does not leave much room for confidence in either.
NYCFC manager Jason Kreis said the team had hit “rock bottom” after losing to rivals New York Red Bulls by 2-1.
