I SHOULD have stuck with a goals treble on Monday. The two games I picked finished 2-2 and 3-2 but I added Hacken to win and they let me down on the Top Treble.

Hacked off? Indeed I was but not as frustrated as the Middlesbrough fans who saw their Premier League hopes blown away by a lightning start by Norwich at Wembley.

Initially I was going to back the Canaries but the main thing that put me off was Middlesbrough doing a league double to nil over their rivals.

I suggested Cameron Jerome as first scorer but decided the final was too close to call and lost 2pts on the Super Single stats.

Carrow Road boss Alex Neil showed he has the potential to be a top boss by being tactically superior to the more experienced Aitor Karanka – not bad for a 33-year-old who only quit playing in January.

Neil faces a huge test now and I hope Norwich stand by him in tougher times unlike most promoted sides who panic and wield the axe at the first sign of trouble.

The Scot has enjoyed two years of unprecedented success and back-to-back promotions with Hamilton and Norwich so it will be interesting to see how handles it when the chips are down as they are likely to be at some point in the Premier League next season.

Bookies believe Norwich will survive with Bet365 offering 4-7 they stay up and 5-4 to be relegated. Champions Bournemouth are 10-11 to go down and 8-11 to finish above the bottom three with runners-up Watford 4-5 and 10-11 respectively.

None of the trio to be relegated pays 7-1 and all three is 14-1. Norwich are 6-4 with Bet365 to finish above the pair in the top promoted club market with Middlesbrough quoted at 11-1 favourites to win the Championship title next season ahead of 12-1 QPR, 14-1 Burnley and 16-1 Bolton.

It’s pretty quiet on Tuesday with the usual scattering of games across the continent including Serie B and Hungarian play-offs and some Scandinavian league matches.

I’ll only be putting up tips for Tuesday if I see something I really like after doing a bit of research.

On Wednesday we have the Europa League Final between Sevilla and Dnipro and I’ll post a separate preview on that one as well as the first leg of the Championship play-off final featuring Rangers and Motherwell on Thursday.

Meanwhile, continue to post tips and thoughts as usual – but please don’t troll or target individual posters. Admin are taking a zero-tolerance attitude to trolls from now on.
