Well it’s Wednesday, May 13th and we are in grumpy moods here at the SBT Offices.
First of all – the Habs going out. Very disappointing. We were all hoping they would do it and fly the flag for Canada. Sadly that was not to be, and they have played the last game for any Canadian team this season in the NHL. Even more disappointing was the weak, weak performance that they coughed up.
Then there’s the NBA. We put some big bets down on the Bulls winning the East at +800 odds. Unfortunately we couldn’t forecast Gasol going out. That’s very, very frustrating when things like that happens because the last 2 games were the Bulls for the taking if not for his absence, and then some inept coaching.
Hoepfully he’ll be back for the next one.
It’s Wednesday of course, and that means we focus on the golf for the week. So let’s get to that shall we? All odds quotes are from http://www.5Dimes.com – the best place to bet golf as you get Top 5 E/W and if you are looking for Brady props they are below:
Wells Fargo Championship Betting Tips:
We have 3 picks in this PGA Event.
We’ll first be going for Phil Mickelson. 25/1 to win, it’s as if this dude built this course based on his form here. He’s also taking his time this season and picking and choosing what tournaments he plays in. This is always good to see from a golfer as it means they’re going into tournaments with the utmost of confidence.
Next is a small bet – quarter unit at most – on Bo Van Pelt. 125/1 he’s not in the worst form of his life, and has actually played very solid on this course in previous years. It’ll be hard for him to crack the top 5, but the odds are a great value considering his true abilities.
Finally we’ll be betting Sean O’Hair. He won this tournament once, and a half unit bet is recommended. Had some solid form this season, and could squeak into the Top 5.
Open De Espana Betting Tips:
Two bets on this one. We’ll go with Thomas Aiken first of all. Aiken is a tremendous price at 25/1. He won the last time it took place at this course, and he has come off his break hot and in form.
We’re also going for Romain Wattel. Wattel is picking and choosing the tournaments he plays in and when he plays – well he does darn well. We are hoping to see more from Wattel this time around.
Kingsmill Championship Betting Tips:
We’re going back to the woman who won us that 66/1 bet a few weeks ago in Cristie Kerr for this one. She’s 16/1 but has dominated on this course previously. There was a break in the LPGA so she will be well rested, and showed some fine form at the Texas Shootout. 16/1 is a great price for Kerr.
The Regions Tradition Betting Tips:
Two bets for this event on the Champions Tour. One is rather outlandish – 200/1 Mark Calcavecchia – the man with a name we hate to type. He came 2nd a year ago, and then 3rd a year before that. He’s been solid on this course in this tournament, and he’s shown he can still bring it. Quarter unit bet.
And finally Tom Lehman. Lehman is probably the hottest golfer form wise of the Champions Tour and this is made for him.
Tom Brady Suspension Betting Props:
The online sportsbook Bovada has offered the following odds if Brady appeals:
Length of Suspension:
4 games: 11/10
3 games: 4/1
2 games: 7/5
1 games: 7/1
0 Games: 10/1
The NFL clearly knew Brady would appeal, and they made the suspension a very strict one. Then they can negotiate a “fairer” penalty so all parties win.
2 games is the recommended bet for this one.
We also recommend betting the Buffalo Bills to win the AFC East. However they are currently 17/4 – wait till Tom Bradys suspension is lowered for that.
