Lorient was a bit lucky to walk away with a point last weekend away to Nantes in a 1:1 draw. They took the lead early, already in fourth minute with an own goal from home defender Djilobodji, but failed to keep the lead for more than two minutes, being leveled up in sixth minute already with a goal from Audel.
For the rest of the game, players of Nantes were much more concrete and have created much more chances, but simply lacked effort in the final touch. Anyhow, Lorient stood undefeated for fourth consecutive match, as the team has two victories and two draws in last four, being able to remove all the doubts regarding their stay in Ligue 1. The side had two great performances away from home, winning over Metz 4:0 and Marseille 5:3 and securing their stay, as they are now six points above relegating placed Evian. All they want for the final game is to say goodbye to their fans with a positive performance here, having nothing to lose now. Hosts will be missing midfielders Mathieu Coutadeur (11/0), offensive midfielder Valentin Lavigne (15/3( and way more important, forward Benjamin Jeannot (31/7).
Monaco, on the other side, comes into this match from a 2:0 professionally taken victory over Metz at home last weekend. They were better from the first moment, getting the lead just before the halftime whistle with a goal from Silva, while the victory got sealed in 88th minute via Germain, with the visiting side being no threatening at all.
This was third victory in last four rounds for Monaco, as the team remains currently at third place, but with only two points more than Marseille and St Etienne, also having worse goal difference than Marseille. This means that the team simply has to win in order to get the Champions League ticket. Monaco are still without central defender Aymen Abdennour (18/0) ahead of this decisive match, while substitute right full back Almamy Toure (5/0) is a doubt with an ankle injury. Important central defender Andrea Raggi (27/0) is suspended and his position will be getting Wallace Fortuna dos Santos.
No doubt that Monaco is a huge favorite to get the victory here, but Lorient comes with morale boosting performances and will surely look to end the season with a positive result. Visitors are favorites and will probably get the victory, but no doubt that the hosts will reply with attacking style as well, having scored ten goals in last four matches.
