IT was one tip and one winner/loser on Tuesday as Jamaica failed to live up to expectations after a decent opening Copa America show against Uruguay.
Copa America hasn’t been too kind to me after a good start on the opening night with Chile and after a goal glut on Monday with 11 in two games it was disappointing to see the guest Jamaican side fail to hit the target.
On Wednesday it’s the start of the European Under-21 Championship with tournament favourites Germany in action against Serbia in Group A and hosts Czech Republic opening affairs against Denmark.
The Germans have any easier group but much is of expected of England – Harry Kane and all – despite being paired with Portugal and Italy as well as rank outsiders Sweden.
Germany’s toughest test is likely to be a Serbia side who shocked Spain in the play-offs to qualify with a 2-1 aggregate success. They are 4-7 at Betfred to win and Serbia have been weakened by the loss of Aleksandr Mitrovic, top scorer in qualifying, who has been promoted to the senior squad.
Kevin Volland and Phillip Hoffman were Germany’s leading marksmen in qualifying with nine goals apiece and Volland, who has played 99 Bundesliga games for Hoffenheim, is being tipped as a star of the tournament. He is 9-2 at Paddy Power to score first and 6-1 with Paddy Power to be tournament top scorer.
Denmark, top scorers in qualifying albeit in a weak group, are 29-20 favourites with William Hill and Ladbrokes to see off the hosts and should do so but the Czechs will carry the support which explains the price.
In Chile the Copa America game could be a cracker as Brazil tackle Colombia. Both sides narrowly won their openers and while it’s tough to pick a winner both to score again looks a decent shout.
In the women’s World Cup it’s all to play for as England tackle Colombia and Mexico face France. England bounced back from their opening defeat against France to beat Mexico but face a tough test against a South American outfit who stunned the French 2-0.
Best bet here could be both to score and I expect France to make amends for their shock loss to Colombia by edging out the Mexicans.
In other games Real Zaragoza, after their incredible comeback to win their semi-final play-off against Girona from 3-0 down at home, entertain Las Palmas in the Spanish play-offs and their Finnish and Swedish league games that I’ll have a look at.
Germany Under-21s are likely to be on a double or treble but I’ll finalise the top tips in the morning with Volland to score at 5-4 with Paddy Power a possible Super Single.

Meanwhile, Raaljaca’s goals thread started recently and he’s asking for donations to two cancer charities.
