Hifk is going to host Fc Inter in the fifth round of Veikkausliiga. Home team is looking for turn over after a promising start while Inter is coming to reach for another win after a bit disappointing draw against Fc Lahti.
Hifk in first two games got two points, when they played 1-1 draws against Mifk and HJK, after those good results they have been bit out of form, losing to Rops and SJK 2-0 and to Inter in Cup 2-0 also. Biggest problems have been in offence. In Rops game they were able to carry the ball upfront sometimes creating a dangerous chances but most of the last passes were awful and the chances fell apart time after time. It’s almost like their self-confidence dropped to null 16meters before Rops’s goal. Few times Sihvola managed to build up something, but it didn’t quite work. Of course Rops played really good and Mosa dominated the game, but still there was lot to improve in attacking game for Hifk, with good finishing the game might been draw too. Against SJK there was so much rotation upfront, that losing to one of the strongest sides is not much of a story. But in last three games their goal difference is 0-6 what is not what we were expecting from them after effective league cup at the winter. In this game they will have to start scoring once again in front of the home crowd. For this game there should be both strikers, Pekka Sihvola and Ville Salmikivi in full fit at both seeking the first league goal of the season.
Fc Inter’s visit in Lahti also finished in 1-1 draw after a bit boring game, specially the first half didn’t show much but in the second half there was more pace in the game. The field was so bad that team which is used to play in the ground was only seeking Hambo with long balls. Still there was some danger in those, while Hambo created three true chances and Gnabouyou was able to use one of them when he bring Inter level to 1-1. Mika Ojala once again was also really good, and goalkeeper Magnus Bahne played a good game also. From Inters game at the moment, as long as the duo Hambo-Ojala is working, Inter will be tough to beat for anyone. Their game is not perfect, but it is nice to watch how these two can create chances out of nowhere. Still there is some weakness in the defense which seemed to be their problem in the League cup but it is going in better way all the time.
In this game, away side is a favorite if you look the odds, and I agree that also, Inter should be able to take this one too. They have won all the three games so far against Hifk, twice in the league cup 3-2 and 6-0 and last time in Finland cup 2-0. The thing is for Inter to keep up the good form and home team should improve a lot in the both ends of the field, their midfield has been decent so far. At the moment there is some value in the away win, but when Hifk seeks for points at home and they really need to start scoring, I would expect an open game with lots of chances in both ends. I’ll leave a small surprise moment in the game and instead of away win, my pick is goals, now when the field is going to be artificial turf, so the bad fields can’t effect to the game this time.
