Well today was a day of mixed emotions for me! My team, Gillingham, came from a goal down to hold on against an in form Leyton Orient side and jump Oldham in the table but City let me down on a 13.2/1 sixfold and denied me £138! Today, there’s the odd game here and there but nothing to the same extent as there has been over the course of the weekend! I’m far more tempted by the English games than the European as per usual but there are some very close games to call!

Aston Villa v QPR

The only game in the Premier League sees QPR travel to Villa Park and after a convincing victory against West Brom, QPR may fancy their chances. Villa have lost two in a row against better opposition but both of these teams are scrapping for their lives and this could go either way! Christian Benteke A/T @ 11/8 and Gabby Agbonlahor A/T @ 13/8 are equally tempting despite the difference in odds but I really like Charlie Austin A/T @ 17/10 again. Win or lose Austin is a constant threat and despite QPR’s away form, Austin could cause havoc for the Villa defence.

Blackpool v Reading

Following Rotherham’s 1-0 win over Brighton yesterday, Blackpool will be playing their football in League One next year. This will go one of two ways, they’ll undoubtedly be deflated but they will either accept this and allow Reading to go at them or will fight for their lives just for pride and passion. Goals have not been in abundance at Bloomfield Road but Gary Madine looks the most likely threat @ 23/10 but not likely. Three goals in two games, I’m going for Reading’s Pavel Pogrebnyak A/T @ 29/20 and at a risk, FGS @ 5/1.

MK Dons v Scunthorpe

MK Dons have been on a goalscoring rout as of late! 3 against Swindon, 4 against Notts County and 3 against Oldham. Against an average Scunthorpe side (average at best), Will Grigg A/T @ Evens is fantastic value for a player with 4 goals in 2 games and 2+ @ 5/1 is also tempting. Scunthorpe provide a lot of threats out wide and their goalscoring options don’t feel me with much confidence so just sticking with Grigg on this one.

Monaco v Montpellier

My last tip for the day is outside of England but is largely dependant upon lineups. Anthony Martial A/T @ 6/4 is the most tempting following 5 goals in 4 games but if Berbatov is fit, he may start. Montpellier are too inconsistent for me and I can’t see much past a Monaco home win.

All the best,

Jamie
