A disappointing day on Monday! Chelsea had an absolute mare against West Brom, Higuain started on the bench and thus voided that bet, and every striker seemed to score for Fiorentina apart from Ilicic! Hopefully we’ll have better luck today!
Arsenal v Sunderland (Barclays Premier League, KO @ 19:45)
I would love for the Premier League to have more mid-week games and this one could be a cracker! Both teams have a game in hand on those around them and both have plenty to play for! If Sunderland win, they are safe and secure top-flight football next season. Should Arsenal win, they will secure third place, ahead of Manchester United and avoid that two-legged qualification round for the UCL in what is already a heavily congested period. As West Brom showed Monday, nothing is for certain and Sunderland are unbeaten in three against decent opposition and shouldn’t be taken lightly. Aaron Ramsey @ 21/20 is the best prospect if you ignore Sanchez, Giroud and Welbeck (all priced under evens) and he has shown glimpses of that scoring ability in recent weeks. He had a couple of digs from outside the box against United, scored against Hull, as well as the winner against Burnley. However, if like me, you’re with William Hill, the Headline Offers are again the best value for money! Alexis Sanchez A/T & Arsenal to win @ 5/4. 5 goals in 7 games in all competitions and at home, Arsenal will certainly look for three points after a dismal performance against Swansea and scraping a point against United. If they can attack from the off, press high, and play their game, I wouldn’t be surprised to see either, or possibly both of these lads on the scoresheet!
Sturm Graz v RB Salzburg (Austrian Bundesliga, KO @ 19:30)
Salzburg managed to salvage a point against Altach 4 days ago thanks to a 86th minute equaliser from Marcel Sabitzer. Along with Jonathan Soriano they are perhaps one of the most lethal strike-forces in Europe. However, Soriano was not in the squad against Altach and I cannot find anything to explain why. I expect it’s injury related so I’m going to avoid him in this particular game but the value is with Sabitzer anyway. Sturm Graz sit one place above Altach and because of that, the odds on a Salzburg win are fairly modest at just under evens. As always, this is great news for me because the closer the odds on the match result, the higher the odds on the goalscorers. Therefore, even with three goals in two games, Marcel Sabitzer is the best value I can find in any game today, A/T @ Evens, a fantastic price!
I’m intentionally avoiding the Coppa Italia and first leg of the Scottish Championship play-off because of that unpredictable cup mentality! 7/5 on Tevez is definitely worth considering though! Basel are also in action against Aarau who sit bottom of the league. I’m yet to find a site that has priced up their goalscorers though but if any of you manage to, Embolo, Gashi and Streller are all well worth watching. In that order, 9, 21 and 11 goals each this season! Quite a short one from me but I feel like there’s a lot of value here and feel really good about the Sabitzer tip! Best of luck!
