Nothing from me last night but a decent day on Sunday! Personally, I had a bit of luck on the cricket in the IPL and have quite a luck there recently with ridiculous odds! On the goalscorer front, just the two UCL games and the Championship tonight though!
Barcelona v PSG
Playing at the Camp Nou and home advantage will probably make little difference to this Barca team who looked so comfortable in Paris the other week. However, with Zlatan back for PSG and trying to overturn a sizeable deficit, this is going to be a very open game! As expected, the A/T markets for Barca’s front three provides little value but I’m going to go with the same successful tip from the weekend and look at Luis Suarez A/T & Barca to win @ 6/4. Suarez has been flying recently in that central role where he is so deadly. He turned David Luiz inside out twice in Paris and with PSG pushing forward so heavily, counter-attacking football at its finest! Zlatan will provide a better, more clinical option than Cavani. A/T @ 13/8 is also worth considering.
Bayern v Porto
This is an interesting one for me. This week, Bayern’s long time doctor and leading member of their medical staff quit after receiving criticism over recovery time for minor injuries to key players that some felt, was a significant contributing factor to the loss to Porto. Quite frankly, this is rubbish. Bayern got torn to shreds because they were complacent and Porto just wanted it more! If the Portuguese side can repeat the heroics of the last fixture, we’re looking at odds as high as 20/1 on Quaresma A/T & Porto to win. William Hill have these two sides equal @ 5/6 to qualify so despite that performance last time round, still an open game apparently! They seem pretty confident and to be honest, I wouldn’t be overly shocked! I’m going to take a risk on this one and go for William Hill’s qualification special – Muller A/T & Bayern to qualify @ 5/2.
Blackburn v Millwall
First of all, Blackburn to win @ Evens is a crazy price! They should easily walk this one! However, there’s always that end of year feeling – Blackburn are too far outside to make the play-offs now and Millwall are scrapping for survival – it could just come down to who wants it more but I can hardly imagine Blackburn sitting back when they’ve played such aggressive football all year! The best value in this one is with Blackburn’s strikers – Rudy Gestede A/T @ 11/10 and Jordan Rhodes A/T @ 5/4. Gestede in particular is in fantastic form after a hat-trick against Forest and this could be a good game!
Swindon v Walsall
My final tip for tonight is in League One and this is what I consider a proper lower-league English game of football. Two teams both central around one main striker who is probably too good for them and carrying them a bit! That’s how I see it but these are both respectable teams (although Gillingham hammered them both!). Swindon’s automatic promotion chances took a bit of a hit following a 1-0 loss to already relegated Yeovil Town. Walsall are just about comfortably clear of the relegation zone so Swindon at home should win this anyway but with that little added pressure, should see them through! Michael Smith A/T @ 23/20 should be the best bet for Swindon – Andy Williams is priced equally but has had to take his chances from the bench recently and Smith just looks a better prospect with more time on the pitch. For the away side, a decent price is Walsall can get going – Tom Bradshaw A/T @ 21/10!
There is one other that Will pointed out to me but I haven’t been able to find a price on him unfortunately! Smail Prevljak, on loan from Leipzig at Liefering and has 7 goals in five games. This is in the Austrian Erste Liga but I have had no luck tracking him down! If anyone has anymore luck than I do then please let one of us know because I would certainly like a tenner on this fella!
Best of luck,
