I have my eyes firmly set on one game tonight and that is Napoli v Wolfsburg. To explain why, the UCL games firmly reestablished something that I was already pretty aware of. A high-scoring first leg will lead to an open second leg that will more than likely, result in more goals because one team are desperately battling to get back in the fixture. It happened with Barca and PSG and it happened with Bayern and Porto. Conversely, the Madrid derby and Juve/Monaco game – both incredibly cagey as neither wanted to give anything away in the former, and Juve sought to see out a 1-0 aggregate win. So I’m focusing on Napoli/Wolfsburg because I think as Wolfsburg push and perhaps grab one or two goals, Napoli will also do the same.
Napoli v Wolfsburg
Napoli are still over Evens to win this game @ 6/5 – I backed them in the first leg and I think they’ll do the double over the German side again in Naples. The William Hill headline offer of Gonzalo Higuain A/T & Napoli to win @ 3/1 is tempting but I’d just go safe with Higuain A/T @ 11/10. For Wolfsburg, Dost was finally dropped in the 1-1 draw with Schalke and whilst I was a big fan when he was bagging two a game for fun, he hasn’t scored in such a long time and that was coming to him! De Bruyne got on the scoresheet again and statistically, there is evidence to suggest when he scores once, the preceding game there is more so Kevin De Bruyne A/T @ 9/5.
I’m not going to throw my entire weight behind it but it also might be worth looking at De Sutter for Brugge. 23/10 or thereabouts when I looked and although Dnipro is a tough fixture, could be dangerous! However, not confident enough to fully back him!
Best of Luck,
