IT was a pretty decent night with Walsall almost bringing home the bacon. I put 3pts on them not to lose at Swindon and 1pt to win and it looked good when they led 2-0.
In the end a 3-3 draw meant another 2pt profit for the Super Single and my Daily Record Super Single, advised on the Champions League thread, won easily as Bayern Munich pumped Porto to reach the last four of the Champions League.
There are two more Champions League quarter-final ties on Wednesday with Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid clashing and Juventus travelling to Monaco leading 1-0.
It was a surprise the Madrid derby finished scoreless but not grabbing an away goal be costly for Real and I’m backing Atletico to qualify with a score draw or even win.
Monaco aren’t as good at home as they are on the road and have drawn their last three league games in front of their own fans. Juve are the better side and can do what Arsenal did and win in the Principality. Juve are a best 7-5 at Ladbrokes and Paddy Power.
There is one game in England with Reading taking on Birmingham in the Championship after their unlucky FA Cup semi-final loss to Arsenal and I’ve posted a separate Scottish football preview covering Dundee v Celtic and Livingston and Hibs.
I’ll put up tips soon because on Wednesday the day has finally arrived. It’s hard to believe but I’m 50 and it will be a day of golf, drinking and watching football. I might even see the missus too – but there won’t be any work done.
