After winning the Premier League last weekend, Chelsea now remains without much of the stress in last three rounds and will probably only try to play as best as possible, freely trying to satisfy their fans. They come from a difficult 1:0 victory against Crystal Palace last weekend at home and are having successful season despite failure in Champions League when they got excluded from PSG.
Their title came in a deserved way this season, as the team was winning the matches when it was needed the most, even though they didn’t always play the best possible football and winning many times with narrow difference. The team didn’t score only in two matches this season, as they now remain without any worry and coach Mourinho might rotate the squad a little to check his options for the season to come. Striker Diego Costa (23/19) won’t be playing in this one, as he remains slightly injury and it’s still early for him. Midfielder Oscar (28/6) is also out injured, while goalkeeper Cech (6/0) and Filipe Luis (13/0) also remain out of play.
Liverpool, on the other side, comes from a 2:1 victory at home against QPR, with the team being only with mathematical chances to fight for fourth position and Champions League. With three matches till the end, they have seven points less than Manchester United and for sure nobody is counting seriously on them in that battle.
On the other side, team is only four points away from seven placed Southampton and can still remain without European ticket, but the chances are minimal as well. After yesterday’s defeat of Tottenham and Southampton, the team might secure the fifth position in case of a victory here. However, they are already planning for the next season, as the team will probably sell some of more influental players this season, such as Balotelli, Johnson and maybe Gerard. For this game, injured remain forward Daniel Sturridge (12/4). Also out with injuries are striker Mario Balotelli (16/1) and defender Mamadou Sakho (17/0).
One way or another, Chelsea is much more stronger here and in much better momentum. Everything except a home victory would be quite a surprise, while the chances for Chelsea’s win are well above 50% in my eyes.
