Bryne got off to a very strong start with two wins in the games against Nest-Sotra (2-1) and Honefoss (1-2). The perfect start has been followed up with three straight draws against Ranheim (2-2), Asane (2-2) and Strommen (2-2). The recent results show that they are more capable offensively rather than defensively these days, which is quite the opposite too their pre-season, where they often kept a clean sheet. The return of striker Ahram Khalili (3/3) has really been lifting their attacking force with a goal in each of Bryne’s last three games. Even if they are undefeated so far after 2-3-0 so far, they need to fix their defensive holes in order to fight for promotion. They have got a good start though with nine points after five games, but they should really have won both against Ranheim and Strommen in terms of play. There are no other injury problems for Bryne tonight.
Brann has started a bit various in terms of performances on the pitch, but is just one point behind Bryne after 2-2-1 and eight points. They are coming from a season best performance against Ranheim (4-1) at home last Thursday. Brann was finally able to recognize from some seasons ago, with passion and impressive individual performances from the players. Suddenly the home crowd has regained faith for a possible promotion this season, but they also need to get a lot more stable defensively if that should be a scenario. Striker Marcus Pedersen (0/0) and 1st keeper Piotr Leciejewski (0 games) are still remaining injured, while defender Eirik Birkelund (1/0) is struggling with a groin injury.
This is without a doubt an open game between two sides that have been showing a lot more offensive sharpness rather than defensive stability so far. Bryne has not been able to take the game in their own favor even if they lead lately, while Brann are coming from their only good performance this season. I do not think that the visitors will bring the positive experience and win tonight as well. This is a difficult pitch to get something from and Bryne is difficult to break down completely. Even if Bryne has noticed three draws in a row, they always get the goal that is needed in order to secure at least a point. To put Brann as the slight favorites away from home is not correct in my opinion. Brann has not been able to win any of their away games so far with 0-2-1, so Bryne taking at least a point should be possible. It should therefore be value on Bryne (+ 0.25 AH) in this match.
