Neymar on form, back Brazil!

Brazil manager Dunga recorded his 11th win in his 11th match back in charge of the national team, thanks to a last minute winner from substitute Douglas Costa. He will be pleased with the result but was disappointed with how open his side looked at times and he may look to tighten things up for the rest of the tournament. Neymar shone brightly and gave the performance of the Copa America so far. The Barcelona superstar scored one whilst assisting another, and was the difference between Brazil and Peru. A win over Colombia will leave his team well placed to win the group.

Colombia gave the most disappointing display of the Copa America so far when going down 1-0 to neighbours Venezuela last time out. That match may prove to be a wake-up call for a side that looked so lethargic. A defeat to Brazil will leave them under great pressure in their last match to get something. As one of the favourites for the tournament and with thousands of Colombians in Chile to support them, anything other than a semi-final spot would be deemed a major failure with the talent at their disposal.

I fancied Colombia to reach the final before the tournament began, but it is difficult to see that now. Brazil didn’t play well against Peru, but they showed off their attacking talent and flair, and I expect them to beat Colombia here.

Brazil midfielder Philippe Coutinho missed his team’s 2-1 win over Peru due to a thigh muscle injury and will probably be out for this clash, too. Dunga is expected to keep more or less the same side against Colombia, but Roberto Firmino and Douglas Costa may start ahead of Fred and Diego Tardelli respectively.
Doubtful: Philippe Coutinho (thigh)

Colombia boss Jose Pekerman is set to make a number of changes after a lacklustre and disappointing performance in his team’s 1-0 defeat to Venezuela. Teo Gutierrez is likely to start in place of Carlos Bacca up front. Edwin Cardona will probably come in for Carlos Sanchez in midfield. Colombia number 10 James Rodriguez seemed to be carrying a shoulder injury in the second half of Colombia’s opening match, but is expected to start, possibly in a different position on the left with second striker Victor Ibarbo coming in.
Doubtful: James Rodriguez (shoulder)
