THE only one of main bets that came up was the Top Treble and even then I suffered a late scare.
Watford, Queen of the South and Man City provided a 5-2 winner that looked unlikely when the English champions threw away a 2-0 lead at home to Aston Villa.
The Super Single was a big disappointment with Killie being hammered by a previous toothless St Mirren and it hurt more because my second choice Swansea won at a Newcastle side who have now been dragged in a drop fight – as someone on this site predicted would happen weeks ago.
Elsewhere I hit the bar on the Euro treble, homes and aways but it wasn’t the easiest of card with the likes of Norwich, Middlesbrough and Derby failing to win in the Championship and Rangers slipping in Scotland to hand the play-off advantage to Hibs. Next weekend’s Hearts-Rangers game will be interesting.
I know form can go out the window in derbies but Torino haven’t won this fixture since 1995 and Juve have won seven meetings in a row. Juve will be in good spirits after reaching the last four of the Champions League with a professional display in Monaco.
They’ll want to wrap up the title as soon as possible to concentrate on their clash with Real Madrid and I expect them to beat a side who have little to play for but local pride. Evens looks value although Torini are unbeaten in four and I also like Carlos Tevez to score first at 15-4 with Bet365.
